COMMENTS:
This scene has haunted me for some time as evidenced by the number of various versions I have done. This is one of those mscenes which fall into the category of memory paintings, that is, paintings in which I am trying to capture and preserve a slice of time out of my own experience. It is, as if succeeding on paper or canvas would allow me to always have that same feeling of peace I had that afternoon. |
